During my 3 week trek along the Annapurna circuit in Nepal, I had a two day stop in a small mountain village called Manang. While exploring the region around the village, I saw this huge blue glacier lake and went to have a closer look at it. It was a lake formed by the melt water of the Gangapurna glacier, which used to cover this whole area in the image, but now has been retreating up to the mountains. You can see it in the mountains in the photo. I had to come back in the night to get a photograph of the lake, stars and me.
