Location
This photo was taken in the Falkland Islands. We were on a cruise and took a trip out to a penguin colony.Time
Thanks to digital technology I know exactly when the photo was taken, it was at 12:51 PM. Not normally the best part of the day but because it was overcast there were not any harsh highlights and shadows.Lighting
Since we were on a cruise you don't have a lot of choice about what lighting you have. We were lucky to have an overcast day so we had even lighting on the penguins.Equipment
Shot with a Canon 5D Mark II with the 100-400 lens at 400mm. Handheld at 1/250 of a second.Inspiration
I love nature and this was my first opportunity to photograph penguins in the wild.Editing
No post-processing.In my camera bag
I use either the Canon 5D or 7D and always have a zoom telephoto lens and zoom wide angle lens.Feedback
