The Cascade River State Park follows an ancient fault-line leading to Lake Superior. There are so many step-downs in the river that it is aptly named the Cascade River. The north shore of Lake Superior is loaded with waterfalls in every park with a river. I would recommend a trip that way if you are ever able.
