This photo was taken at the Domain Wintergardens in Auckland NZ. I'm self taught and I'm trying to specialise in macro photography, so I try and take every opportunity I can to practice. Unfortunately winter does not provide many outside options for this, but the indoor Wintergardens were perfect for this.Time
This was taken around mid morning, and being a giant glass house environment it had plenty of light.Lighting
It was an overcast day which meant the natural lighting was much more even.Equipment
I used a Canon 80D with a dedicated Canon macro lens 100mm. I also used a tripod which is what I believe was one of the main (and essential) reasons for the success and sharpness of the picture.Inspiration
I just loved the look of the fresh white flowers against the masses of green foliage.Editing
I did very little with post processing apart from lifting the magenta tones. In my camera bag
It all depends on what I'm going to shoot, but normally I have the dedicated 100m macro, a 50mm prime for portraits, a Canon 700D and 80D, the standard kit lens an external flash and a tripod.Feedback
Always use a tripod and make sure the specimen you are shooting is in tip top condition. Also try and capture something different about it that others may not see.
