Location
This photograph was taken in the Grand Cafe Orient in Prague.Time
I love taking photographs of interesting architecture, especially staircases. I visited this location in the afternoon but the time of day doesn't really matter for this location since it is an indoor scene.Lighting
Lighting is a challenge here because of the dark interiors. The staircase was lit but not enough for me to be comfortable shooting handheld. I pumped up the ISO to beyond my comfort zone so as to get a steady shot.Equipment
This was shot on a canon 5DS with a 24-105mm lens without flash. Setting up a tripod was not possible at the location.Inspiration
I like to shoot interesting patterns and I find spiral staircases have a lot of character. I had heard about this location and since i was visiting Prague, I planned a visit there.Editing
Theres not much post processing here other than a contrast and clarity boost. I reduced the noise to decrease the grain caused by the high ISO.In my camera bag
Depends on the type of photoshoot. I carry a Canon 5DS, usually with a 24 - 105 mm and a 70 - 200 mm for street and portrait photography. For macro, a 100 mm with a ring flash is in the bag.Feedback
Its best to carry a wide angle lens for this shot....the faster the better.
