Staying on after the last bus had left was the correct decision as I was rewarded with a splendid sunset of Mount Fuji. However, getting out was quite an adventure as the location was virtually deserted.

After walking 2km out of the total 6km in near darkness to reach the nearest station, I took a breather and had dinner at a nearby eatery. Taxi was out of the question as it would cost S$80 for a mere 5 min ride (for the taxi to come pick me up from civilisation). In the end, I was in luck thanks to one of the kitchen staff who so kindly took time off and offered to drive me. Nothing but lots of gratitude
