I feel so fortunate to have been able to experience such beautiful colour in some small sections of the reef when I went scuba diving for the very first time in my life a year ago. This was also my very first time using an underwater camera. It was exhilarating, beautiful and bittersweet all at the same time, as it was evident the reef was suffering from sever coral bleaching and has now recently been pronounced officially dead. I hope one day it will recover and we can all enjoy nature the way it was intended to. This photo will always be a very special moment in time for me. I'm thankful I can share it with others who may never get the chance to experience such amazing underwater sea life.
