Location
This photo was taken in my bedroom and is of my nephews wife, Sara. She was expecting their first child and I wanted to take a few photos of her during her pregnancy.Time
The windows face Northeast so light rather than sun fills the window in the late afternoon.Lighting
This is natural light. As the sun began to set we went outside and into the lake where I also captured her with the sun back lighting her and the ripples of water around her as a near silhouette.Equipment
Canon Mark III is my camera of choice.Inspiration
I wanted to do this photo and others for her as a remembrance of this time in her life.Editing
This photo is as taken. In my camera bag
Since this was at home I only had my camera. Even when I go locally to shoot, I have an extra battery, and card, but not much else.Feedback
Shoot often, every day if possible. Try to delete about 9 of every 10 photos taken but shoot in a series. It sounds ruthless but it helps you in the long run. The subject isn’t as important as the light or composition.
