Great capture of the Stairway to the moon. It is an awesome experience. Wonderful how you have managed to get the boats in with the moon

Location
This was taken while on a sunset cruise, in Western Australia Monkey Mia, I was very blessed to have the perfect still water and beautiful night sky to have been able to capture this shot, using no tripod just hand held and the moon was low on the horizon which created this beautiful supermoon.Time
This would have to be one of my favourite times of the day and would be for most photographers, just between and after sunset.Lighting
Western Australia has some of the most beautiful sunsets, the lighting before and after sunset was so soft over the big open sky. The water being so calm allowed for the amazing light from the moon to show up perfectly on the water.Equipment
My Canon 5D Mark II, 70-200 L Series lense and no tripod hand held.Inspiration
When I saw the moon coming up low on the horizon, I got so excited, it was such a beautiful site, the moon was so big and very bright. I waited for our cruise boat to move before I could capture the moon between the boats, which just added a little bit more to the composition, than just the moon alone and the light coming from the moon reflecting on the water was just stunning,Editing
There was no post processing just a little color satuation added. In my camera bag
When I'm flying I usually carry a backpack, with my Canon 5D Mark II. I only use Canon L Series Lenses, I have the 70-200mm L Series zoom lense, 85mm prime lense, 17-40mm L series wide angle and my favourite all rounder is the 24-70mm 2.8L lense. I use a 580EXII speedlite, a variety of filters, remote shutter release, spare batteries, flash light, CF Cards, and Tripod. I try not to leave anything behind, because the day I do is the day I will need it.Feedback
Look out for a full moon, upload an app on your phone telling you the moon cycle. Position yourself somewhere where there is not much light, preferably away from city lights or street lights and work out your composition.
