Location
This photo was taken at the Grand Canyon (USA) when i was on a road trip with my sister. Since we both live in different continents (Europe and South - America) these times are fantastic for family bonding and making great memories together.Time
We where camping out on Mather Campground, got up quit early around 6AM. Fixed a delicious breakfast on campfire and headed out to walk the rim trail from the south rim (19K). On our walk from the far end of the trail back to Mather Campground at around 8:45 AM this photo was taken at one of the many breathtaking views. In the right lower corner you see the river crossing through the Grand Canyon, the far end being the north rim and closer by some natural towers of the south rim.Lighting
It was a cloudy day but at this time the sun was already cutting through some clouds creating a golden shine over part of the image, whilst the other side was still in the clouds and waking up. Only natural lighting was used as it set the perfect scenery.Equipment
This shot was taken with a Panasonic Lumix FZ 338 without use of extra equipment and / or flashInspiration
Whenever i am on vacation with my sister we try to capture our greatest memories in breathtaking photography. Everything was just right for this photo. The time of day, the natural lighting, the scenery. We had a great walk including lots of great photos.Editing
No post - processing was done on this picture. In my camera bag
At the time the picture was taken i only had the above mentioned camera. Now i have moved on to Canon Rebel T5i with several lenses: the normal kit lens, 70 - 300mm Tamron, 10 - 18mm Canon, 50mm Canon. I also have cleaning equipment with me, a small and a regular size tripod, a flash, several batteries, SDXC memory cards, and filters.Feedback
Before 10 AM and after 4PM are the best hours for photography. At midday the lighting is to harsh and your photo's will look 'flat'. Wait for the natural lighting to light up the scene as you like it. Patience for the right timing is crucial. Enjoy the walk and the view. Be happy!
