Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken while on a walk near Fort Laramie's 1875 Old Army Iron Bridge, as we ventured on the walk I had come across a field of these beauties almost like they were dancing with each other a beautiful display of green and yellows.

Time

I happened to capture this shot during sunset, the gold from it setting created a beautiful glow almost to the yellows in their petals. My favorite time of day to go out on hikes is about an hour before the sun sets. I love how cool the air feels and how the colors pop out you from the sky to the ground an absolutely beautiful display and time of day to shoot!

Lighting

The lighting in this photo was all natural, as the sun began to set it really added a glow to the whole shot giving me the perfect light and some amazing contrast.

Equipment

I never go anywhere with out my Canon Rebel T3 and a couple lenses. You never know what you will get to see, in this particular photo i used a 55-250mm EFS lens. I prefer to use a telephoto lens when out and about on walks because I do not like to disturb anything in nature i just want to shoot it so i can preserve how i saw it for years to come.

Inspiration

The colors honestly caught my eye, the tall black top and bright yellow petals hanging low almost like a little skirts, i just couldn't help myself i wanted to capture these flowers beauty to share.

Editing

I prefer not to do a lot of post-processing, in my opinion nature is so beautiful in it's own. I did in this photo turn up the clarity and vibrancy. I felt the color captured in camera was not what i was seeing so to get to that point i did just small minimal adjustments to get this photo to really pop just as it did in person!

In my camera bag

I always carry the minimal with me because i love to go out on hikes and getting weighted down by heavy lens and bags can be a pain quit literally. I keep with me at all time in my bag my camera body, a Canon Rebel T3, my cleaning rag, so cleaning wipes for lens and my two lens, the kit lens 18-55mm EFS and my 55-250mm EFS lens. The 250mm comes in handy when i don't want to disturb what i'm photographing and the 55mm is great on a full landscape shot not so much the up and personal but both have their advantages and disadvantages.

Feedback

Be ready for anything sometimes even the smallest and most simplest of objects insects, or animal can make for the most luring and beautiful photo. Patients is key take time to admire what you are shooting, take it in look at all angels and aspects don't be afraid to try new angels and lighting you never know really till you try.
