Behind The Lens

Location

It was in a park that I come across daily on route to work, lot of great subjects to take photos of here, from scenes to wild-lives and critters, this was a day I geared myself to explore the macro fantasy world.

Time

Taken early in the morning on route to work when the humidity was high, looking for close-up subjects and found this little guy wandering.

Lighting

It's an overcast morning, while working only the camera and tripod, this was a great opportunity to exercise exploration, innovate, and patience to find the right angle, composition to best utilize the available light source for the photo.

Equipment

Simply my Nikon DSLR with a macro lens and a tripod, nothing else really.

Inspiration

I had a macro lens on the camera and was the whole different world of macro photography I was exercising that day, and while it was wet and humid out there I know that these small subjects would be ideal to photograph, so I explored to find the right subject, scene, composition.

Editing

Typically with macro photography, I apply minimal post-processing except for finesse touch on colour, contrast and saturation. Neither was this a stacked photo either that require the extra processing.

In my camera bag

Aside from the camera and depending on what I am planning to shoot, I usually have a couple of lenses with me, between a wide, a tele, and a prime/macro. ND filter and tripod often keep my company, in terms of essential accessories like batteries, and cleaning tools like blower and lens cloth are must.

Feedback

My philosophy of utilizing what gear I have on hand, make use of the most out of the gear, the setting around, and the technique, will always obtain rewarding shots.
