This picture was taken in the middle of the night in June when on Svalbard (Spitsbergen) there is hardly a night. On Svalbard the weather is mostly grey, but this night the weather was beautiful. My plane just landed at 2.00 a.m. and we decided to go and start photography right away. We went to bed at 5.00 a.m. and were at breakfast at 8.00 a.m. to start the day. After this trip I noticed that while long nights in winter can give people a winter depression, these very short nights can give you energy beyond limits. Although I was there for just a week I had loads of energy for at least 10 days after I got back home.
