A daylily (Hemerocallis fulva) from my backyard graden, set against a black background. I achieved this using a combination of a flash, stopping down the lens, and Lightroom. (My Yongnuo flash does not allow for high-speed syncing, so I only had so much control over the exposure. Perhaps I will invest in a neutral density filter to give me more control).
