Location
This was shot in my Studio in the rural setting of Tealby, Lincolnshire UKTime
I’m not an early starter (no sunrise shots in my port!) so my sessions always start about 11.00am giving me time and my guests a chance to get ready, look their best, without feeling tired before we’ve even startedLighting
I use Bowen’s hi-glide in the Studio. This enables me to move my lighting easily (no stands, or loose leads) and get the lighting position just right. This was taken with two softboxes and a front reflector, with two lights on the backdrop (I was doing three quarter length as well)Equipment
Hasselblad HD31, Lens HC 50-110mm, on a Manfrotto 475B tripod on a Manfrotto Heavy Dolly, with Bowen’s Quad X 3000Inspiration
It was a shoot purposefully for both Daria’s (the model) and my portfolios. She lives very local to me, so I approached her for a shoot. It was a fun shoot, her sister and Mother came to and we got some good family shots too, plus had a bit of a party!Editing
Most of the work was done on the shoot. Great MUA Corinne Jayne Alex so very little post was needed. A couple of skin blemishes removed, but nothing major. I use Adobe CC, but have cut back on the assets I use owing to the monthly subscription getting bigger than my mortgage! In my camera bag
The Hassleblad very rarely makes it outside of the Studio mainly because of its size and it’s not so robust nature! My main camera is my trusty Nikon D800 with various Nikkor lenses. Two speedlites with various triggers and a pack of cigars! Lightweight Manfrotto tripod or monopod depending on what’s happening.Feedback
Keep the lighting simple and have a great subject.
