Behind The Lens

Location

As a self taught landscape photographer and artist i was traveling through the Australian country side and came across this little gem in the middle of the water on the first day i was there up from Sydney seeing friends, on the second day i came back to the same spot and took this awesome cracking shot at chaffey dam in Tamworth nsw Australia, i had the whole spot to my self with nothing but the birds singing there songs and surrounded by kangaroos.

Time

This awesome cracking shot was taken in the middle of winter at 5am in negative 5 degrees , i drove 40 min from where i was staying with friends to get back here , this shot was hand held with no trypod because i didn't bring it with me at the time, so i had to work with what i had, the muddy bank of the dam was realy slippery i had to be careful not to slip over in the mud while taking this awesome shot.

Lighting

As a landscape photographer, all your lighting is natural light so i chose to get up early in the morning because i wanted sunrise colors along with my windmill but it didn't turn out in this particular shot, because the sun was in the wrong direction but iam still realy happy with the result, i tend to believe things work out for a reason and with the way the lighting worked out it definitely did.

Equipment

I used a Samsung wb250f compact camera with a 24mm wide angel lens f3.2??f5.8 with no trypod and no flash.

Inspiration

This particular shot inspires me because l iam always trying to be different from the crowd and challeng my self to capture the most unique shot i can and share it with the world, i really took the time to wait to find the right wind mill in the right place, and as i went with my friends to this dam in Tamworth and i seen that wind mill, all my dreams came true, i knew how unique this shot would be especially with it being in the water and the reflections it gives off i haven't seen a shot like this anywhere else.

Editing

In this particular shot i croped it to draw the audience tnto the main feature of the photo and i used a bit of purple tint and dehaze to make the sky seem more blue than usual and a bit of color saturation.

In my camera bag

My trusty samsung wb250f a cleaning cloth trypod and a few flash diffusers i made my self and my skills and knowledge of photography.

Feedback

For me photography is a journey iam trying to tell the crowd a story with my camera, so i try to draw the audience in to my photos ,so when u are taking something similar to this be creative bring the audience in, i put the camera into and closest to what ever iam shooting and i frame the shot before taking it,also plan your seen like as in day, night waether ect.
