Olympic Peninsula, WA
The symbiotic relationship between a tree and its forest surroundings is evident here in the Hoh Rainforest. While the moss seems to drape heavily over this tree, it does not seem to stunt the life of it's host. They appear to be locked into an intimate dance--twirling and weaving their way to towards the light above. A tree does not exist on it's own, and a forest does not exist without its trees - they are, in a sense one in the same.

I'm co-leading a weekend workshop - tour with Howard Snyder on the Olympic Peninsula later this year. Focusing on the classic coastal locations at ideal tides, and the awe-inspiring rainforests of the Hoh, Queets, and Quinault, you will photograph and experience one of Washington State's most enchanting destinations!
The tour is the weekend of Oct 7th – 8th with a bonus sunset session on Friday, Oct 6th if you wish to arrive by 5pm. The tour concludes Sunday after sunset (allowing enough time to catch a late ferry back to Seattle Sunday night).
You will be guided to captivating photo subjects in the forests and coasts, which can be quite difficult to find oneself. The knowledge of these locations is the result of years of experience photographing the region. If you want to make the most out of a trip to the peninsula, this tour will guarantee that you visit the best spots the peninsula has to offer.
- Oct 7th - 8th 2017 (bonus sunset session on Friday the 6th)
- Field instruction and guidance
