Location
Holiday island Maldives. It was a holiday of a life time, took my misses there cos she had had a very bad yearTime
It was taken at around 11am, don’t normally shoot around that time but was sitting on the sun bed and seen that pal tree, I just had to photo the palm tree it looked like a post card.Lighting
I wanted the light to be bright to make the sand as white as possible.Equipment
D7100, 10-24mm tamron len. I did have a tripod but did not need to use it as it was so brightInspiration
I seen photos in the travel brouchures and post cards. We were sad on our sunsets and I said to the misses is that shot like a post cardEditing
Yes I did a little work in lightroom just a bit of basic stuff. I then added a motion blur to the sky and clouds , opacity of the motion blur was only about 20% just to give the clouds a little motion. In my camera bag
I now have a d750, it was a D710, well I have both at the moment, still learning the D750. Wide angle len Tamron 10–24 mm which I use a lot. 24-70 Nikon 2.8f len beginning to use a lot this lens is so sharp I love it. Speed light. 90 mm tamron macro lens, 1.8f Nikon 50mm prime lens. Bunch of different filters ranging from big stoppers to polarising filters. Cleaning stuff for lenses and cameras. Tripod (always take it every ware)Feedback
Always take your camera with you. It would of been nicer to have a little more cloud in the sky, I waited for the sun to be as bright as I could see but hoping for a little bit of cloud cover. I took a few different shots to get the composition I liked. I also walked down the besch a little to get as little disturbed sand as possible to make it like a desert island.
