This was shot during a Photographer-Model-Meeting in a park in the town of Lueneburg.Time
High Noon .... Not really my favourite time for taking photos, but this year in Germany we are happy for every single sunray.Lighting
Sun at noon isn´t the perfect beauty light - most shots were done under the trees in the park. To avoid dark shadows in the face (eyes, under the nose, ... ) she had to lean back. Otherwise I had to use a reflector or maybe a flash light.Equipment
Nikon D90 with a 50mm/1.8 .... Nothing else. Settings were ISO 200, 1/4000, f2.8Inspiration
I hadn´t planned to make many pictures, as the I thought the light was too bright to shoot without shadows (and the nearby trees were occupied by other photographers. But as she came by I asked her to just enjoy the sun.Editing
I just did some raw processing in Lightroom - I rarely need something else. And this pictiure had no need for great retouching. In my camera bag
Except my Nikon D90 with a spare akku I have a Sigma 18-125/f3.5-5.6 and a Sigma 70-210/f3.5-4.5 in my bag. When I plan portrait-shots I also take a Nikkor AF 50mm/f1.8 with me. And (newest) most of the time a Nikkor AF-G 35mm/f1.8, it is a great portrait lens (at DX or APS-C cameras) and great for street and report photography. Anything else, like polarizing or ND-Filters, flash lights, remote triggers, tripod or a reflector is optional.Feedback
As always: Keep your eyes open for a opportunity. And work with what you have. :)
