This was the winter in California that saw the long-awaited drought relief arrive! Storm front after storm front rolled through, bringing with it spectacular coastal sunsets. I, along with a slew of other photographers, visited the coast continuously for 3 months, trying to capture the most amazing light! This shot was an enlargement taken from a bigger framed area of the Huntington Beach Pier. The island in the background is Catalina Island, which seemed to be floating above the water in its own bed of clouds! The light globes on the pier were only illuminated by the sun's light! This was taken at twilight.
