Behind The Lens

Location

I took the picture on the median of HWY. 51, in my hometown of Crystal Springs, Mississippi, where the city planted some wildflowers.

Time

It was about mid-afternoon when I took this picture.

Lighting

It was bright and sunny out that day, so it really made the color of the flowers show up well.

Equipment

If I remember correctly, I just used a little Samsung point-and-shoot camera.

Inspiration

I was taking pictures of all the other flowers around me, including the other Poppies, and noticed this one. I found it both intruiging and a little creepy looking. I couldn't resist getting this shot.

Editing

I really didn't have to do any post processing. It was perfect in its original form. I love those kind of shots! I prefer to not have to do any editing of my pictures if I can get away with it. I like to keep them as natural as possible.

In my camera bag

Unfortunately I don't have a gear bag right now, since I don't have enough equipment for one.

Feedback

Just get as close to the subject as you can, but keep your main subject in focus. Let the background blend and blur.
