Preston School of Industry and Reformatory for Wayward Boys. The Preston School of Industry, also known as Preston Castle, was formerly one of the oldest and best-known reform schools in the United States. It is located in Ione, California. Opened in June 13, 1894, closed in 1960 and fell into disrepair until a group of local residents formed a foundation and rescued it in 2001. A HUGE project and a very cool place to visit.
