Preston School of Industry and Reformatory for Wayward Boys. The Preston School of Industry, also known as Preston Castle, was formerly one of the oldest and best-known reform schools in the United States. It is located in Ione, California, in Amador County. Opened in June 13, 1894, closed in 1960 and fell into disrepair until some local residents formed a Foundation and rescued it in 2001.
