Renishaw hall built in 1625 for Sir George has been the home of the Sitwell family for almost 400 years, notable members of which include Sir Reresby and the literary trio of siblings, Dame Edith, Sacheverell and Osbert. It has award winning Italianate gardens with marble statues of Diana and Neptune by Caligari, clipped yew hedges and a fountain in the 'swimming pool'.
