The Crooked Spire is on the Parish Church of Chesterfield Derbyshire.Which was built in the late 13th century Local folklore says that the Devil got lost in a storm one night and landed on the spire, hanging on by his tail and claws. The next morning the villagers woke to find the spire was twisted. Actually the builders had used unseasoned wood.
