The contrast has been increased in this photo for the white triangle on the underside of this condor to be more visible.
This condor was photographed at the Bitter Creek National Wildlife Refuge south of Carrizo Plain. This is one of the three condor sites in California and one of the only five in the world (others are Big Sur and Pinnacles in Ca and Navajo Bridge area in the SouthWest). The South American Condor is a different kind of bird. I've seen-photographed (poorly) condors at all four US sites.
