I took this photo at home after being inspired to do an artistic selfie showing the energy and aura of an artist.Time
This was taken at night to eliminate sun light spill from the windows to make a more focused an interesting light scheme.Lighting
I choose a one light side light to give more depth and interest to my features.Equipment
I used my canon 7D and a canon soeedlite to capture the initial photo and then added smoke from a separate shoot on top in Photoshop and colorized the smoke.Inspiration
I wanted to show the illuminating energy that flows from an artist and their emotions when creating.Editing
I did add smoke layers on top and colored them in Photoshop. I also made myself transparent to appear as though I was made of energy or spiritual.In my camera bag
Just my camera, lens and a white balance cap. Pretty simple, unless I am going on a shoot that requires more.Feedback
Everything in photography starts from the proper lighting, framing and focus point. Once you have a good base, then it’s easy to build whatever you desire on top to create your masterpiece.
