We stopped at a viewpoint on our way to Christchurch from the West Coast of NZ and were taking in the scenery, suddenly we realised that there was much more to see than just the valley below! There was a group of 5 keas, a large native parrot whose numbers are swiftly decreasing. After watching them hop around for a while and taking a few snaps, it became my mission to get a picture of one in flight and capture the spectacular colours of their spread wings. It took a lot of patience, but finally I managed to catch one in the perfect moment where you could see all their beautiful feathers in all their glory!
