Behind The Lens

Location

This image was taken in the Western Fiord region of Iceland in 2013.

Time

Taken around 8pm according to the exif data.

Lighting

Just nice late afternoon or early evening light.

Equipment

Nikon D7000 Sigma 10-20mm @ 12mm f13 ISO100 exposure of 5 seconds so a tripod was used.

Inspiration

The partly snow/ice covered mountains looks pretty awesome but going back 7 years is sort of difficult to remember.

Editing

There was some post work involved using multiple luminosity masked curves layers plus a magenta toning layer

In my camera bag

Currently I use an Olympus OMD-EM1Mk2 with a variety of lenses mainly the 12-100mm F4 PRO and the Laowa 7.5mm f2 for landscape work but sometimes the 12-40mm and the 40-150mm PRO and a handful of prime lenses.

Feedback

Keep your eyes open and think of what makes a good composition and learn how to post-process images as taking the image is only the first part of the process.
