This Snowy Egret was fishing along the banks of the wetlands near Palo Alto, Calif.
These dainty egret hunt for minnows and tadpoles. Many develop long filmy feathers called aigrettes in breeding plumage. I had to crop this so nothing would take away from the wonderful feathers.
