Behind The Lens

Location

Took this photo while camel backing through the deserts of Giza around the Great Pyramids in Egypt

Time

If I remember well enough I think it was just around the afternoon when the heat started soaring and all I could think about was where is the shade.

Lighting

There's no better light than sunlight as I always say. Makes the pictures come out more natural and you don't need to worry lighting, unless you're facing the sun which then wouldn't be of much help

Equipment

I had only my phone on me as I did not want to get my camera sand in the lens.

Inspiration

The background with the Pyramids in the distance itself was awe inspiring to see. But having something else to focus on does make things more interesting. Also who can say no to a smiling camel, I think he really wanted me to take a picture of him :)

Editing

Since it was a picture off the phone it did need a few touch ups here and there. I mainly increased the highlight and shadows to enhance the subjects more to make them stand out. After that was the usual of enhancing the colour for certain bits

In my camera bag

In my backpack I usually keep my camera which is a Canon 6D with a 24-105l lens and a Sigma 50mm 1.4 lens for portraits. Also the extra batteries and memory cards and cleaning equipment. I like to keep my bag light as possible, but it depends on what I plan to take pictures of.

Feedback

It's not always easy to get animals making poses or doing something unusual with humans present, so when you see the opportunity to snap you just go for it.
