Behind The Lens

Location

Cape Palliser- Wairarapa , New Zealand

Time

Early afternoon, on a beautifully sunny, but very windy day!

Lighting

I really wanted to try and get the odd clouds against the bright blue behind the lighthouse, the sun was in just the right spot, standing close to the bottom of the lighthouse looking right up!

Equipment

Just my trusty Cannon 400D camera, handheld and used my eye!

Inspiration

i love looking at things from different angles. This place has been on my list to visit for a long time, i didn't want just another lighthouse, and i didn't want to have the ocean etc in the background, i wanted the focus on the lighthouse and its prescence.

Editing

Not really, just lowered the highlights and bobs your uncle!

In my camera bag

my camera!

Feedback

look from different angles, get low, go high, shoot off centre. I go with my gut, i generally "see" a picture in my mind and try capture that. i have no rules, beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
