Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken during a daytrip to the Mid Wales town of Aberystwyth.

Time

This was taken just as the sun was about to sink into the sea, it had been a beautiful evening just finished off with this beautiful sunset.

Lighting

I did nothing special, I noticed how the broken window framed the sun in a really nice way and so used the window as a frame.

Equipment

This was literally just my trusty old Fuji HS50. I have had it for years, it has been round the clock many times but I love it and go back to it tema and again.

Inspiration

We had spent a great afternoon in Aberystwyth and were watching the sunset as we ate on the promenade. We were walking along the promenade and passed a seating area that had a broken window and I noticed that it framed the sunset perfectly. I just had to take the picture.

Editing

No I never do anything to my pictures if I can help it. 99% of mine are as they come off the memory card.

In my camera bag

I will have my two cameras my Fuji HS50 which is so old now, and the Fuji S1. And spare batteries of course.

Feedback

This was literally a spur of the moment capture, but if you do now of a broken window anywhere near a setting sun you can go and play with times and heights of the sun in your frame.
