At the end of the pine tree forest, in the southern coast of Jeju Island, is a cliff with imposing volcanic pillars of rock. Jusangjeolli is a majestic pile of stone pillars, formed via sudden cooling of lava from Hallasan Mountain that erupted into the sea thousands of years ago. What is so impressive about these rock formations is that they are perfectly hexagonal for the most part, almost appearing handmade.
From the multileveled observation deck above, the rock formations seems countless and even though there had been much corrosion and weathering caused by the ceaseless beating of the ocean, the columns stand strong and fortified.
