Location
This photo was taken using my iphone6s. This is a trail near Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, a US town close to the Mexican border. It used to be called Hot Springs, New Mexico but was renamed. There are many historic bath houses in this town, so I would go hiking on this trail after going to the hot springs.Time
This is one of the most gorgeous trails I've ever been on. The hot dry air, the mountain altitude, the quiet calm of the dusty trail is a perfect hike for inspiration and thinking about one's life direction. I just loved the juxtapositions of sky, earth and the terrain. Lots of snake holes but fortunately at the time I did this hike they were dormant for the season. I did this hike in the late morning that day but returned quite a few times at different times of the day as well during my stay there. I would go for a hike after a bath in one of the local hot springs.Lighting
I wanted this image to evoke a feeling of introspection. We are so outwardly focussed in our lives today and having time for self-reflection is crucial for a healthy life.Equipment
I only used my iphone6s -- no filters, no editing.Inspiration
I was inspired to take this photo to share with my viewers the concept of self-reflexivity and how crucial it is to take time for oneself.Editing
I did absolutely nothing in terms of filters with this photo. What you see is what you get!In my camera bag
OI usually just carry my iphone but I also have a Canon G12 camera. However, I find that the iphone takes photos with a higher pixel count than my G12!Feedback
New Mexico is a treasure trove of visual beauty. The mountains, the hot springs, the vast open spaces are perfect for landscape photography. It's the fifth largest state in the US! Only about 2 million people in the entire state so there is lots of space. One never feels crowded and you can go out on hikes all day without seeing another person.
