Living part time on Maui and having our own boat, we do a lot of whale watching and whale photography. You can't choose where the whales will be in relation to the boat and shooting directly into the sun is difficult at best - but sometimes it makes for an interesting shot. This is a female Humpback whale, doing a pectoral fin slap (pec slap) with her calf right by her side.
