An Adelie penguin molting (losing feathers for new) Which I am told is a painful experience for them. While they are molting they stay in one spot for roughly a week or more. This one had pulled some feathers and is in the beak.
Behind the Adelie is Scott's hut on Hut Point of Ross Island Antarctica. Which was used by Scott and his crew from 1902-1904 is my understanding.
