Location
This is taken in downtown Montgomery, AL on Dexter Ave.Time
This is probably one of my best extended exposure composites done at the fountain. I had a driver in my car and had them make varying laps around the fountain. Some on the inside others on the outside and I made sure all the lights were on to make the photo a little more colorful.Lighting
Not really. The idea is to pull you in starting at the bottom corner and have you follow the light trails to the center where you then are focused at the center of the photo. Every time I look at the photo I see something new.Equipment
This was shot with my Canon SL1 using my Sigma 10-20 F3.5.Inspiration
I have seen a number of extended exposure composites in intersections or on bridges over highways, but I wanted to try something a little different with the location that I had to work with.Editing
Yes!! This is a merge of 4-5 15sec extended exposure shots. Once merged I did a little boosting of the vibrance and added a little warmth. In my camera bag
As of recently I upgraded from the Canon SL1 to the 5D Mk iv. I normally carry a Tamron 70-300, Canon 50mm STM, Sigma 10-20, and my 24-70F2.8 II. Then when needed I carry my Speedlite 430-EXIIIRT.Feedback
Be patient. I was at this fountain for a few hours trying different ways of creating the light trails. Finally I found that the more lights the better because there was not a lot of traffic in the evening.
