Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in Gulf Shores, AL under the pier. I was taught majority of my photo skills by a friend and learn new things with every experience!

Time

This photo was taken mid afternoon and I chose to go black and white because of the harshness of the sun at the time.

Lighting

Not really I just wanted the never ending effect.

Equipment

This photo was taken with a Canon SL1, 24-70 F/4L, on a tripod.

Inspiration

I just love seeing those photos that have a visual depth that gives it that never ending feel.

Editing

I actually did a little post-processing brightening the shadows since it was mid day you couldn't see a lot under the pier.

In my camera bag

My bag is quite heavy actually. I always keep my Sigma 10-20 F/3.5 in my bag because I have noticed while using my crop-sensor camera sometimes you just can't get far enough back. The second lens I carry is my Canon 24-70 F/4L because I love that lens and all the photos taken with it. The third lens I carry is my Tamron 70-300 Di VC, the vibration control is ridiculous and I often have to be careful not to walk when it's on because it freezes everything for the photo. The brain doesn't like that. Finally last but definitely not least I carry my Canon 50mm f1.8 prime. That is a must anywhere I go. The bokeh it produces is amazing!!

Feedback

Only advice I have is to ensure you are perfectly straight or can at least crop it as such because it may look weird if it isn't.
