The receding archways give a sense of depth through the complex, while the archway on the right frames it, giving a sense of size and scale, particularly, with the lone, very, small person standing in the bottom-right.
The old-world architecture is fantastic with the golden glow highlighting the aged building materials.
It must have been quite a sight to see in person.
