My first serious try to capture some stars. I drove half an hour to get to an area with acceptable light pollution just to find out that a half moon was lighting the scene and spoiling the appearance of the stars.
Big luck, cause i forgot my flashlight and the battery of my mobile drained.
Otherwise I would have had a hard time to find out of the forrest...

pity about the moon light, this should be reshot (with flashlight) I use live view fully magnified and shoot with mirror lock up a wi fi shutter release. I use a heavy video tripod as well for night work. I have not published yet i think because my Tamron lens is the 2.8 26-70. Looking for a lens faster and wider for better results and shorter exposures an my stars are not crisp enough.Patrick. Canon 5d Mklll

WI used 15 seconds as well on a black night. But i was torching a foreground. Next time take the same photo and work my way down from 14 seconds?? Patrick
