A prehistoric dolmen in Antequera, Spain. This one, the oldest of three in the area, is estimated to be some 6,000 years old! While nobody bohered to write down the purpose or building instructions, archeologists surmise that this dolmen likely played a ceremonial role. The theory as to how it was constructed involves a lot of moving dirt around and digging it back out again. It is quite amazing to think that these collosal stones were moved with little more than ropes and logs!

The purpose of this dolmen sounds much like the disciplinary squad when I was in US Navy boot camp in 1968. When guys really screwed up, they were assigned to manual labor that required them to dig up dirt on one end of a bridge, move it to the other side, fill in holes, then reverse the procedure. Kinda like Congress today.
