Behind The Lens

Location

At my aunt's house. Since her husband is an antique car lover, it's no surprise I found this rusty beauty at her house.

Time

This is probably one of my fav photo of an antique car. I still remember when I head to her home accompanying my grandma for a gossip session (honestly I don't want to) but there she stood flashing her smile waiting to be clicked and I never regretted my decision after that.

Lighting

I wanted to click the image from an angle where I can show the viewers what I saw in that rusty yet gorgeous beauty. As like any beauty, her "smile" under the sunlight is something so natural and captivating so I just kept it and captured it as it is.

Equipment

Since I was caught by surprise all I managed to is pull out my iPhone 5s and click this image. So the pic details are as followed: Camera: iPhone 5s Aperture: f/2.2 ISO: 32 Exposure: 1/789

Inspiration

Cars play a bigger role in our everyday life but just like woman not every car can catch your attention and as a photographer no cars captured my attention until this one jumped in front of me out of nowhere. Her captivating "smile" just draw me in to take the pic.

Editing

Actually, the pic doesn't needed much postprocessing. All I did was touching up the highlights and structure of the pic to pick out the details of the car.

In my camera bag

I usually pack myself my beloved Nikon D90 and the 18-105mm kit lens. Even though it's an old model which is discontinued by Nikon (And not a fan of it because of it's weight) but since it's my late aunt's camera (The 1st photographer in our family) I just carry it with me because I just feel like she guide's me to find my best shot.

Feedback

Find your angle. The angle where you can show the audience what you really saw in the subject. After that pick your light source and set it up. Pick out the details and snap it.
