First shots of the night sky in 2017, although not for lack of trying - the weather here in Wellington has been atrocious...
This was a challenging spot in a dark river valley. Although the sky was crystal clear, there was very little natural light to illuminate the surrounding native bush. Fortunately, the first shot I took was photobombed by a family with torches, which helped light the scene.
