Mangatiti Falls - Tararua District, New Zealand

The Mangatiti Falls are one of the best waterfalls located on private land in New Zealand. An hours walk in from the farmers house (and a lot longer on the return trip in the dark...) - not an easy spot to get to but definitely well worth the effort.

We think we were the first to shoot this place at night! There were only a handful of photographs of these falls on Google, so there was a lot of speculating as to whether we would get a good Milky Way shot or not.

This sums up what I love about photography. Finding amazing locations, planning the shot and pulling it off.
