I took this shot at a beauty fantasy-inspired photo session in studio conditions, teeming up with talented MUA Andra Durnea and amazing Diana Mate modelling for us.Time
It was shot during an afternoon but we used artificial light exclusively.Lighting
The main goal from the lighting point of view was to have a very clean and uniform lighting with minimal shadows and soft uniform tones.Equipment
This was shot with my trusty Nikon D5200 from back in the day, with the Nikkor 55-200mm, handheld.Inspiration
We were wanting to create a beauty shot for the arrival of winter, so we chose all the different details according to this theme: MU, colors, light, the wig and so on. Basically all came together to get this wintery snowy icy vibe.Editing
The main purpose of the post-processing phase on this session was to enhance the light (which was pretty dim in the original shot especially to avoid most or all hard shadows), and some color-correction, some retouching here and there.In my camera bag
Nowadays I bring my Nikon D800E camera along with a Nikkor 50mm F1.8 and a Nikkor 24-70mm F2.8 along.Feedback
The whole idea in this shot was to start from a concept you love and progressively build upon it (choosing model, MU, location, lighting, processing, colors etc) until you get to the image you feel reflects the initial concept best. Enjoy brainstorming and photographing!
