Location
We went to Hel Peninsula in the afternoon, enjoying beautiful weather and a couple of hours to kill. I decided to go back just before the sunset. Here's what I caught.... Light was very beautiful and even, so I haven't used any filters.Time
Evening, sunset.Lighting
Light was very beautiful and even, so I haven't used any filters. Barely a hint of wind and very clear air gave me this rare opportunity to take a few very nice shots. It felt natural to turn one of them into B&W.... I extended a little exposure to smooth out the waterEquipment
NIKON D7000, tripod, mirror up, remote release.Inspiration
It was simply a beautiful seascape, with the boat moored at the wooden pier. It caught my imagination and I knew exactly how I wanted to shot it when I returned before the sunset.Editing
Just a minor adjustment of highlights and shadows to emphasize structure of wood, delicate histogram polishing and B&W conversion. I never shot in B&W, always convert in post production. In my camera bag
NIKON D750 camera; NIKKOR lenses: 14-24 f/2.8, 24-70 f/2.8, 70-200 f/4; set of Lee filters; MARUMI polarizer; spare batteries for the camera and the flash gun; charger for batteries; BENRO tripod; cleaning kit for glass; pocket knife; tarpaulin cover for the camera; phone with useful apps; bottle of water; memories and curiosity of a discoverer...Feedback
