One of several I recorded of this unusual tree west of Carvel, Alberta. Recorded with the exquisite Sigma DP3 Merrill, which has a 50mm f2.8 macro lens and it's 46mp Foveon Sensor. I also recorded a GigaPan panorama of this tree. This phenomenon occurs in early spring as the sap begins to flow. Most of the trees do NOT bleed.
