An excellent place to photograph American Bald Eagles is at the water locks and dams on the border of Illinois and Iowa in January and February. The water doesn't freeze because of the constant churning of the water so it is a good food supply source. This is an adult eagle that is focused on a fish. He is in attack mode ready to capture his next meal.
