Very noisy, but highly welcome, the snow ploughs or blowers come by to clear the roads in the middle of the night. People leave for work in the dark (before seven) and can often be seen clearing snow at five am. This is our Canada.

This is what I used to do to welcome my husband home from night shift, especially when there was huge precipitation.
The lights and plough can barely be seen behind the nearest tree.
